Tipsy Mussels

Tipsy Mussels are easy to make and delicious to eat!

2 lbs Mussels, cleaned & debearded

4 cloves of garlic (minced)

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)

1 lemon zested

2 cups white wine

1 tbsp ground pepper (to taste)

1 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

lemon wedges for garnish


1Melt butter in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.

2Add garlic and let is sizzle for about 30 seconds.

3Season with red pepper flakes and lemon zest, stirring for about 45 seconds.

4Quickly pour in white wine into the pan and season with black pepper.

5Bring sauce to a boil, stir in mussels and cover immediately. Shake pot and let it boil for 1 minute.

6Stir mussels, replace cover and let boil for 2 more minutes. You will begin to see the shells open.

7Stir in parsley, cover the pot and cook until all of the shells are open (1 to 3 minutes).
